Efforts are underway to bring the gold resource into the economy within the scope of the Söğüt Gold Mine Project in the field belonging to GÜBRETAŞ in the village of Sırhoca on the Söğüt-Eskişehir highway.
Fahrettin Poyraz, General Manager of Agricultural Cooperative Credit Associations and Chairman of GÜBRETAŞ Maden Yatırımları A.Ş., stated that they will make additional investments in the field in Söğüt.
Poyraz said, “The EIA report approval process and other works in the mine site are continuing and that a three-phase study will be carried out in the region. Because there is not a single mine there. There are two different types of metals, both oxide and sulfur. We will make a complex investment in two different types of minerals, intertwined.”
“We Estimate An Investment Of 450 Million Dollars”
Emphasizing that they are working to start the mining operation as soon as possible, Poyraz said, “We are currently making an additional investment for machinery and equipment orders. Our goal is to produce the first gold by the end of 2022. There is a size that corresponds to approximately 6 billion dollars in terms of the Turkish economy. We foresee an investment of 450 million dollars in total this year, next year and in 2023 in order to extract these 6 billion dollars value from there.” he said.
Poyraz said, “As GÜBRETAŞ Maden Yatırımları, in the coming periods we will hopefully start working in Söğüt and other fields outside it.”
