Türkiye is experiencing the pain of two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş that took place on February 6-7, 2023. The great earthquake disaster devastated the whole of Turkey, and all our citizens started a great solidarity mobilization in order to provide the contribution they could make to the earthquake region and to be with the earthquake victims.

In this great pain, our friends in the mining industry have undertaken a much greater mission. Search and rescue teams of public-private sector mining companies operating all over Turkey rushed to help the earthquake area. More than 10 thousand miners who participated in search and rescue efforts in the region where the earthquake occurred became real heroes by saving many lives trapped under the rubble. 

Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları Söğüt Gold Mine Family also went to the earthquake region as soon as possible to support the search and rescue efforts carried out in the earthquake region. They tried to heal the wounds of the earthquake to some extent with their devoted work for days and achieved great success with their activities.

We thanked them at a plaque ceremony held on the day they started working.
