A SAFE AND HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENT

As Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları A.Ş, providing a safe and healthy work environment is our top priority. For this purpose, we define the processes of all employees working in our mine, including subcontractor and supplier employees and interns, conduct risk analyzes in accordance with these processes, and establish and implement control systems appropriate to the identified risks.

We make our assignments in accordance with the determined workflows, by assigning competent employees to the appropriate job. We subject our employees to appropriate training and education programs. We aim to make occupational safety culture a part of the lives of all our employees.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We use monitoring and measurement systems for measurable occupational health and safety performance, identify areas open to improvement, and implement good practices with our preventive approach.

We include all our employees in occupational health and safety processes and value their opinions. We see training, suggestion and reward systems that contribute to the development of occupational safety culture as an integral part of our strong communication.

We carry out all our work using continuous development and the best possible technology.

We constantly monitor the health status of all our employees and develop protective and preventive health policies.

COVID-19

We proactively manage COVID-19 challenges with our occupational health and safety team. We have implemented our measures seriously since the first day and continue to monitor the situation closely.

To keep employees, contractors and suppliers safe during the pandemic, we are implementing a number of measures in line with the Ministry of Health Covid-19 guidance reference and the best practice recommendations of international health organizations. These range from social distancing to travel restrictions, flexible and remote working arrangements, PCR and personal hygiene checks.

EMERGENCY AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT

Emergency scenarios are studied for all possible accidents and incidents that may occur during mining activities and work steps are determined. Within the determined distribution of duties, all our employees are informed and kept alive with continuous training and exercises.

SEARCH AND RESCUE

Our Mine Search and Rescue Team is being formed under the leadership of OHS professionals who are experts in their fields and have participated in search and rescue activities across the country. This team has the equipment and competence to participate in mine search and rescue activities both in the field and across the country if needed.

SAFE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL USE

A risk assessment is carried out for all new work machines and equipment entering the operating site, and workflows, maintenance and usage instructions are created according to this assessment.

All chemical-containing materials used in the field are pre-evaluated and activities are carried out by selecting the safest material.

WORK PERMITS

Activities determined in the operating field are carried out with work permit systems. Activities carried out under the control and supervision of authorized and expert employees are an integral part of our occupational safety culture.

ROAD AND TRAFFIC SAFETY

Safe movement of both work machines and light vehicles within the operating area: A road safety procedure is established to ensure that our employees' transportation to the site and their return to their homes are managed in the safest way and that no problems occur during the transportation of suppliers and visitors to the site, and precautions are taken to operate it sensitively.
